Welcome
Welcome from all over the world to Denmark where The 8th World Symposium on Choral Music (WSCM 8) is going to take place from July 19 - 26 2008.
Choral Music meets its audience
is the title of this symposium, and indeed it is going to take place in the beautiful city of Copenhagen, where we are going to show new ways to connect to our listeners in a world with greater possibilities and challenges than ever. And of course, you will listen to some of the world's finest choirs, take part in exiting, interactive workshops and Master Classes and meet musical friends from all over the world.
Some of the key words to our eighth World Symposium are:
-
Interaction

On behalf of the Symposium's Organizing and Artistic Committees, I invite you to join this unique and exciting event, - the first Symposium in Denmark and only the second in the entire Nordic choral hemisphere, which has fascinated many conductors and choirs from the whole world.
The IFCM World Symposiums are the world's most important choral events, where choir people from all parts of the world meet to learn and show what is going on in the field of choral music. We are honored and happy to be your hosts, and we are eager to show you not only our own Danish choral tradition, but also to open the doors to the entire Nordic choral family.
The main venue will be our fine new Opera House at the harbor front, but the Symposium will also take you to the famous Tivoli Garden and a number of our beautiful old churches in the city of Copenhagen.
We look forward to greeting you in July, but urge you to register now, - don't be disappointed by applying too late!

Head of WSCM 8
